My House Tour - Guest Bedroom

Hey y'all! It's a new week and I am sharing a new room on my home tour! The Guest Bedroom has actually never before been seen or should I say "shared"! This room has remained under the radar mainly because it was never professionally photographed! It was not apart of any of the press features I have received, so therefore would get passed over! It is the poor middle child of the house!

The guest bedroom is actually considered the 'master bedroom' of the house! It is the only room to include an en-suite bathroom! It is a VERY small bathroom and hardly worth mentioning! The bathroom is the ONLY room in the house that has never been touched...like I have never even given it a fresh coat of paint! It requires so much structural repair that it simply hasn't happened yet! But don't worry, a full renovation is in the plans and will be documented here!

Back to the room at hand! The guest bedroom's floors were in a horrible state! So of course, the floors were apart of the entire house's hardwood floor overall!! After a complete sand down and refinishing, they were back in tip top shape! For this room, I wanted to do a little something extra for the walls!! So I got Dad to add vertical and horizontal boards to the walls for a board and batten look! I painted all the woodwork high gloss white and the upper portion of the wall Sherwin Williams Silverplate. Once the walls were done and painted, it was time to move in the furniture!! I wanted to go with a different color combination than the rest of the house, so gray and yellow it was!! It also helped things since the space is simply a recreation of my college apartment bedroom! It is still a work in progress, but we'll get there one day! I would love to have matching nightstands and maybe new draperies! It will work for now!! Thanks again for stopping by!!
